It seems absurd to me that this site takes it to either extreme; either you're not using an electronic device at all - which makes you a good parent - or you're constantly on it - which makes you the worst parent possible. I don't believe either extreme is worth the time of day! My dad is an incredible dad, he did a nearly flawless job raising me and my siblings (far better than my mother did) and yet he does block me and my siblings out to do incredibly important things such as emailing, and speaking to different people on the phone. It doesn't make you a bad person/parent to take care of business during different parts of the day (be that at home with your kids or out with friends). It makes you a normal person; just like the french saying, "cest la vie," which means "that's life."
